FROGS

Friends of Gleadless School (FROGS) is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission.  It was established, and is managed on a voluntary basis by a group of trustees who are either parents of children in Gleadless School or members of the teaching staff.

FROGS develops and delivers a rolling programme of social and fund raising activities which help support the academic and social education of children attending Gleadless Primary School.  Some of the events the Group has organised over the last year include: schools disco’s, sponsored read, Christmas Fayre, ladies evening in aid of The Sick Children’s Trust and ‘Happy Cats’ social evening.  The Group also subsidises school trips and gives every child in school a book at Christmas.

New members are always very welcome, it is up to you on how much time and support you can offer (a lot or a little - it all helps!). Membership is open to family and friends from the local community.  Meeting agenda’s primarily focus on organising activities to fund raise but the group does discuss other school and child related issues that members want to talk about.  The Group provides a friendly network in which you can discuss things and share experiences and ideas.  School parent governors are FROG members and the meetings also provide an opportunity for people to chat to them on an informal basis if there are issues they want to address.

Meeting dates are advertised on this website and on notice boards around school.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Group.
